Due to being a site of special scientific interest, most of the lower bolts have now been removed and access is likely to be permanently banned for this site.
These crags are on land designated as SSSI and also as an European Special Area of Conservation . There are some nationally rare and endangered species of plants found on these crags that could easily be damaged by climbing activities. As a consequence both the land manager (Conwy Council) and Natural Resources Wales have stated that climbing should not be permitted on these crags.

Climbers are requested to observe this restriction in order to avoid damaging these plants and also to protect access to other venues on the Ormes.
